NYU Medical Center

NYU-Medical_logoTo Whom It May Concern:

As one of the Founders of the Skin Cancer Foundation, I am pleased to acknowledge the contributions of Nancy Erlick, a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for a number of years in the 1980’s. She also served as Chairperson of the Award Banquet for the Foundation in 1982 and 1983 and was able to obtain the support of Equitable Life to underwrite the event.

In these capacities, she made many positive contributions to better public understanding of preventive health care issues involving skin cancer. Among the most positive of her suggestions was to focus the attention of the Foundation on the concept of a preventive sun screen location especially designed and compounded for children. The initiation of this idea, and the impetus given to it by the Foundation, pharmaceutical companies and others has had lasting beneficial effects on public health.

Since that period, Mrs. Erlick has focused her attention on improving child health in general, emphasizing the critical importance of diet, exercise and awareness in addressing the growing problems of obesity among our young population.

I commend her as an informed, dedicated person who has worked diligently to creat public awareness of the need for preventive measures in both skin care, as well as obesity.

Sincerely,
Alfred W. Kopf, M.D.
