Dear Nancy,
It was a pleasure meeting with you, and we want you to know how much we all enjoyed seeing the Once Upon A Farm Coloring and Comic Book you have designed. Because the books are both fun and informative, they are especially attractive as an item to share with the children and families who utilize the services ofJoe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Due to the current obesity epidemic, good nutrition is an especially important message to convey to members of our community.
As we mentioned, we treat nearly 60,000 patients in our Emergency Department each year, perform more than 5,000 pediatric surgeries, and have more than 600 pediatric patients undergoing cancer protocols. We also have more than 600 families stay at our Conine Clubhouse, a home away from home for families to stay for free while their children are in the hospital.
We feel that we could easily use 10,000 copies of the Once Upon A Farm Coloring Comic books, but have not yet identified a donor to help us with the printing costs. If you are able to identify anyone to assist us with this most worthwhile project, please let us know. As you know, we are a 501 C3 charitable foundation, and would agree to use funds directed to us for that purpose in order to print the books.
We ae equally interested in the wonderful play equipment you have designed, and I understand, now actually constructed. I feel that that are locations we could place the Orange-Go-Round should one be able to be donated to the hospital trough the Foundation.
Thanks again for your interest!
Sincerely,
Kevin R. Janser
Vice President/Executive Director
